Department 01
General Medicine
Our general medicine department is the first stop for most families in Kolathur. Physicians handle everything from viral fever, dengue and typhoid to long-term management of diabetes, thyroid disorders and hypertension. Because the laboratory sits inside the hospital, blood work ordered in the morning is usually reported the same day, so treatment starts without a second visit. Patients who need admission move directly to our inpatient ward or ICU without transfers. Follow-up plans are written in plain language with medicine timing, diet notes and the exact date of review, and our pharmacy dispenses the full prescription before you leave the building.

Department 02
Orthopaedics
Orthopaedics is the department KCK Hospital was built around, and it remains our strongest. We treat fractures and sports injuries, knee and shoulder pain, arthritis, back and neck problems, and perform joint replacement and trauma surgery in our modular theatre. Digital X-ray is available on the same floor, so a patient who walks in with an injury can be imaged, casted or scheduled for surgery within a single visit. Post-operative recovery is handled by our own physiotherapy unit rather than an outside clinic, which keeps the surgeon and therapist working from one shared plan.

Department 03
Physiotherapy
Our physiotherapy unit works with orthopaedic, neurology and post-surgical patients on a measured recovery plan rather than generic exercises. Sessions combine manual therapy, electrotherapy, gait training and a home programme you can actually follow. Common cases include knee and hip replacement rehab, stroke recovery, frozen shoulder, low back pain and post-fracture stiffness. Therapists review progress with the treating doctor every week, adjust the load, and tell you honestly how many sessions are likely to be needed and what each will cost — so families can plan the recovery without financial surprises.

Department 04
Pediatric Care
Children are seen by paediatricians who work with our labour room and newborn care unit, so care continues from delivery through the school years. We handle fever and infection, breathing difficulty and wheezing, feeding and growth concerns, jaundice in newborns, and the complete national immunisation schedule with reminders sent to parents. Consultation rooms are kept calm and unhurried because frightened children do not cooperate with rushed examinations. Where admission is needed, a parent stays with the child throughout, and the paediatrician reviews the case in person morning and evening.

Department 05
Surgical Care
Our general surgery team performs appendix, hernia, gallbladder, piles, fissure and abscess procedures, including laparoscopic options where suitable. Every planned surgery begins with a written estimate covering the surgeon, theatre, anaesthesia, stay and medicines, so the family knows the number before consenting. Pre-operative blood work, X-ray and physician clearance all happen inside the hospital on one day. For insured patients, our billing desk raises the cashless pre-authorisation and follows it up with the TPA, and our nursing team reviews wound care and diet with an attendant before discharge.

Department 06
Plastic Surgery
Our plastic and reconstructive surgery service focuses on function first: burn management, skin grafting, scar revision, hand and crush injuries, cleft correction and complex wounds that will not close. These cases are handled alongside orthopaedics and general surgery when an injury involves both bone and soft tissue, which avoids sending a patient between hospitals mid-treatment. Cosmetic corrections are offered only after a frank consultation about the realistic result, number of sittings and total cost. Dressings and review visits continue at the hospital until the wound is fully healed.
